The decision to become a Christian is the single most important decision you can ever make. It will
effect the eternal well being of your soul and radically impact your everyday life!
This decision can be explained by the simple image to the right.
1) When God created man, there was union between God and man, but sin broke that union
Romans 5:12 (ESV) "Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death
through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned."
2) Sin now separates man and God.
Romans 3:10-11, 23 (ESV) "As it is written: 'None is righteous, no, not one; [11] no one understands;
no one seeks for God'...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
3) The penalty for sin is eternity in Hell.
Romans 6:23a (ESV) "For the wages of sin is death..."
4) What's worse, man is unable to change this situation.
Isaiah 64:6 (ESV) "We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a
polluted garment. We all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away."
5) God solved man's problem by sending Christ to bridge the gap of sin and reconcile man and God
(John 3:16, Romans 5:8, 1 Peter 2:24).
John 3:16 (ESV) "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him
should not perish but have eternal life."
Romans 5:8 (ESV) "God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
1Peter 2:24 (ESV) "He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to
righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed."
6) God calls upon you to repent of your sins by confessing them to him and trusting in Christ as your
Savior and Lord (Acts 16:31, Romans 10:9-10, 13).
Acts 16:31 (ESV) "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household."
Romans 10:9-10, 13 (ESV) "because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in
your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. [10] For with the heart one believes
and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved...For 'everyone who calls on the name
of the Lord will be saved.'"
