Confident or insecure: which of those two words might best describe your faith? In our text, we’ll find that some peoples’ hearts condemn them and others’ hearts offer reassurance. But as we look together at this text, we’ll also find that the certainty that we are genuine believers does not rest in our level of psychological assurance, but in the God who omnisciently knows our condition, graciously forgives our sin, and eternally secures us as His children.
